Services Provided

Mostly, I provide psychotherapy for adults and teenagers. "Therapy," "counseling" and "talk therapy" mean exactly the same thing as psychotherapy. For convenience, I'll just use the expression "therapy." You'll can learn about the therapy methods I use by selecting "Treatment Methods" from the "services" drop-down menu above.

Most of my adult clients come to me because of problems with depression, anxiety, relationship problems, family problems and work stresses. Most clients have a mixture of these concerns. You can learn more about problems like these and how they are treated by choosing items from the "Services" drop-down menu.

My greatest single interest in my private practice is helping couples save their marriages (or whatever you want to call the relationship if the couple is not married). I have had specialized training for this service, and I enjoy working with couples, even when their relationships are very troubled. For more information about my marital counseling services, click on "Help for Couples and Families" in the menu above.

Another particular interest is helping people and organizations resolve conflicts that interfere with workplace creativity and productivity. Click on "Productivity MediationTM" in the directory at left to learn more.

Over the years I have become very familiar with a wide variety of less common problems that people bring to therapists. These include:

  • Obsessive compulsive disorder
  • Sexual problems
  • Habit control problems
  • Extramarital affairs
  • Divorce recovery
  • Drug or alcohol problems
  • Sudden severe life stresses
  • Grief problems
  • Chronic pain
  • Severe medical problems or impending death from illness
  • Crime victimization
  • Traumatic experiences
  • Money management problems
  • Impending incarceration
  • Domestic violence
Although some of these might be intimidating or disturbing to lay people and perhaps some therapists who prefer the simpler, easier cases, they are all in a day's work for me. I sometimes treat children, depending on the child's age and the nature of the problem. Whenever possible, I first try to assist children by helping the parents understand how to assist them.
